Terms of Service for Hackley Clubz

Hackley Clubz is a school-community application used by students, faculty, and club leaders at Hackley School to register clubs, organize events, join clubs, RSVP to events, and communicate with other members of school clubs.

By using Hackley Clubz, you agree to follow these Terms of Service, Hackley School rules and policies, and all applicable laws. If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use Hackley Clubz.

1. Who May Use Hackley Clubz

Hackley Clubz is intended only for authorized members of the Hackley School community, including students, faculty, staff, and other school-approved users.

Hackley Clubz is not intended for use by the general public. Users may be required to sign in using a Hackley School Google account or another approved school login method.

Users may not share their login credentials, impersonate another person, or allow someone else to use their account.

2. Purpose of the Application

Hackley Clubz exists to support school clubs, student activities, event organization, RSVPs, and appropriate school-community communication.

Users may use Hackley Clubz only for legitimate school-related purposes, including:

  • Creating and managing school clubs
  • Joining school clubs
  • Organizing club events
  • RSVP’ing to club events
  • Communicating with club members
  • Sharing appropriate information related to clubs and school activities

Hackley Clubz may not be used for personal attacks, inappropriate social behavior, harassment, bullying, spam, commercial advertising, or any purpose unrelated to school clubs or school activities.

3. Relationship to Hackley School Policies

All users must follow Hackley School policies, rules, codes of conduct, technology-use rules, disciplinary standards, and community expectations when using Hackley Clubz.

Nothing in these Terms limits Hackley School’s ability to enforce its own policies, codes of conduct, disciplinary rules, technology-use rules, or other school rules.

If Hackley School policy imposes a stricter rule than these Terms, Hackley School policy controls.

4. General Conduct Standard

All use of Hackley Clubz must be respectful, appropriate, and consistent with the standards of the Hackley School community.

Users must not post, send, upload, create, or share anything that violates Hackley School policy, these Terms, or the standards expected of Hackley students.

Users may not use Hackley Clubz in any way that is unbecoming of a Hackley student.

This includes conduct that may occur through club names, club descriptions, event descriptions, RSVPs, messages, comments, images, usernames, profile information, or any other content or activity on the application.

Hackley Clubz reserves the right to remove any content that, in its sole judgment, is inconsistent with the educational mission, values, standards, or community expectations of Hackley School, even if the content is not specifically prohibited elsewhere in these Terms.

5. Prohibited Content and Behavior

The following are not allowed on Hackley Clubz:

A. Bullying, Harassment, and Threats

Users may not bully, harass, intimidate, threaten, target, shame, embarrass, or humiliate another person.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Personal attacks
  • Repeated unwanted messages
  • Mocking or ridiculing another person
  • Social exclusion campaigns
  • Threatening language
  • Encouraging others to target someone
  • Posting content meant to embarrass or humiliate someone
  • Sharing private information about someone without permission

B. Profanity and Inappropriate Language

Profanity, vulgar language, obscene language, and crude or offensive expressions are not allowed.

Users should communicate in a respectful and school-appropriate manner at all times.

C. Discrimination and Hate Speech

Users may not post or send content that attacks, demeans, excludes, or mocks a person or group based on characteristics such as race, color, religion, national origin, ethnicity, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected or personal characteristic.

D. Sexual or Explicit Content

Users may not post, send, upload, request, or share sexual, sexually suggestive, obscene, pornographic, or otherwise explicit content.

E. Violence, Dangerous Conduct, or Self-Harm

Users may not post, send, or share content that:

  • Threatens violence
  • Encourages violence
  • Promotes dangerous behavior
  • Encourages self-harm
  • Includes graphic or disturbing content
  • Creates a safety concern for the school community

F. False, Misleading, or Impersonating Content

Users may not:

  • Impersonate another student, faculty member, staff member, club, or administrator
  • Create fake clubs or fake events
  • Submit false RSVPs
  • Misrepresent their role or authority
  • Spread knowingly false or misleading information

G. Spam, Advertising, and Solicitation

Users may not use Hackley Clubz to send spam, mass unsolicited messages, advertisements, promotions, fundraising requests, sales offers, or solicitations unless specifically authorized by Hackley School or appropriate school personnel.

H. Privacy, Personal Information, and Photos

Hackley Clubz is intended for use within the Hackley School community. Users may share ordinary club-related and event-related information when reasonably needed for school clubs, events, activities, and coordination.

Users may, for legitimate club or event purposes, share information such as their own contact information, meeting details, event logistics, and photos from club or school-related events.

Users should use good judgment when sharing personal information, images, or event details. Information should be shared only in ways that are appropriate for the Hackley School community and consistent with Hackley School rules and expectations.

Users may not use Hackley Clubz to expose, misuse, or weaponize another person’s private, sensitive, or personal information.

Users may not post or share personal information, photos, videos, screenshots, or private communications in a way that is intended to or reasonably likely to embarrass, harass, bully, threaten, shame, exclude, impersonate, or otherwise harm another person.

Users may not share highly sensitive information about another person, such as medical information, family matters, disciplinary issues, private messages, or other sensitive personal details, unless there is a legitimate school-related reason and appropriate authorization.

Event photos and ordinary school-activity photos may be shared within Hackley Clubz when appropriate to the club or event. However, users should not share images that are embarrassing, invasive, misleading, altered in a harmful way, or otherwise inconsistent with Hackley School standards.

If a user believes that a photo, personal information, or other content involving them is inappropriate, they may report the content through the Hackley Clubz reporting feature.

I. Academic Misconduct

Users may not use Hackley Clubz to cheat, plagiarize, share unauthorized academic materials, coordinate academic dishonesty, or violate Hackley School’s academic integrity policies.

J. Technical Misuse

Users may not attempt to interfere with, damage, hack, reverse engineer, disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to Hackley Clubz, its server, its database, other users’ accounts, or related systems.

Users may not attempt to bypass login restrictions, security controls, or school access rules.

6. Club and Event Content

Club leaders are responsible for making sure that club names, descriptions, events, announcements, and messages are accurate, appropriate, and consistent with Hackley School policies.

Club and event content must not be misleading, offensive, exclusionary, unsafe, or inconsistent with the school’s expectations.

Hackley Clubz may remove, edit, restrict, or report club or event content that violates these Terms or Hackley School policy.

7. Communications Between Users

Messages and communications on Hackley Clubz must be school-appropriate and related to clubs, events, or school activities.

Users should assume that communications on Hackley Clubz are not completely private. Messages may be visible to members of the relevant club, event, or communication group. Messages may also be reviewed by authorized administrators or technical personnel if needed for safety, moderation, troubleshooting, security, or compliance with school rules.

Hackley Clubz is not an official emergency communication system. Users should not rely on Hackley Clubz to report emergencies, immediate safety threats, or urgent mental-health concerns. In an emergency or immediate safety situation, users should contact a trusted adult, school administrator, campus security, emergency services, or another appropriate authority right away.

8. Reporting Inappropriate Content or Behavior

Users are encouraged to report inappropriate content, misuse, bullying, harassment, profanity, safety concerns, or any behavior that may violate these Terms or Hackley School policy.

Hackley Clubz provides a reporting feature that allows users to report content, clubs, events, messages, comments, user profiles, or other activity that they believe violates these Terms or Hackley School policy.

Users may submit a report by clicking or tapping the Report button associated with the relevant content.

The reporting feature may ask users to provide information such as:

  • The type of concern
  • A short description of what happened
  • The club, event, message, user, or content involved
  • The approximate date and time of the incident
  • Screenshots or other relevant details, if available

After a report is submitted, Hackley Clubz may review the reported content, related account information, technical logs, and other relevant application activity. Reports may be reviewed by authorized Hackley Clubz administrators, moderators, technical personnel, Hackley School administrators, or other appropriate school personnel.

Hackley Clubz may take action based on a report, including removing content, restricting access, disabling a club or event listing, suspending an account, referring the issue to Hackley School, or taking other reasonable steps to protect the school community and enforce these Terms.

Hackley Clubz does not guarantee a particular response time for reports. However, reports involving serious safety concerns, threats, bullying, harassment, discrimination, self-harm, violence, or violations of school policy should be treated as especially important and may be escalated to Hackley School administrators or other appropriate school personnel.

Reports will be handled as discreetly as reasonably possible, but Hackley Clubz cannot promise that reports will remain confidential. Information may need to be shared with school personnel or others in order to investigate, respond to, or resolve a concern.

Users should not misuse the reporting system or knowingly submit false reports.

9. Enforcement

Hackley Clubz may take action if a user violates these Terms, Hackley School policy, or the standards of the Hackley School community.

Possible actions may include:

  • Removing inappropriate content
  • Editing or disabling a club or event listing
  • Restricting messaging access
  • Suspending or disabling a user account
  • Referring the matter to Hackley School administrators
  • Taking other action reasonably necessary to protect the school community or the application

Serious violations may result in school disciplinary consequences in accordance with Hackley School policies.

10. Administrator and Technical Access

Authorized administrators, moderators, or technical personnel may access user content, messages, logs, account information, or other application data when reasonably necessary to:

  • Operate Hackley Clubz
  • Enforce these Terms
  • Investigate reports or misuse
  • Protect users or the school community
  • Troubleshoot technical issues
  • Maintain security
  • Comply with school policy or legal obligations

Access should be limited to people who have a legitimate reason to review the information.

11. No Guarantee of Availability

Hackley Clubz is provided to support school-club organization and communication. We will try to keep the application available and functioning properly, but we do not guarantee that it will always be available, error-free, secure, or uninterrupted.

Features may be changed, added, removed, suspended, or discontinued at any time.

12. User Content

Users are responsible for the content they create, post, submit, or send through Hackley Clubz.

By submitting content to Hackley Clubz, users give Hackley Clubz permission to display, store, process, moderate, remove, and share that content as needed to operate the application, provide its features, enforce these Terms, and comply with school policy.

Users should only submit content that they have the right to share and that complies with these Terms and Hackley School policy.

13. Privacy

Use of Hackley Clubz is also governed by the Hackley Clubz Privacy Policy.

Users should not submit unnecessary sensitive personal information through the application.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time.

If we make material changes, we will provide notice by one or more reasonable methods, such as posting the updated Terms in the application, notifying users, or notifying Hackley School.

The “Last Updated” date at the top of these Terms shows when they were most recently revised.
